Because we are a full-service consultancy, Paragon Safety is able to offer specialized experts for your specific safety needs—audit experts to do the auditing, training experts to train, etc. Our focus is simple: We keep people healthy, safe, and productive, protecting life and property. When people can do their job without fear of injury or illness, they are empowered to thrive while helping propel our economy forward.
Company Timeline
2012
Paragon Safety Group was initially started to provide OSHA 10- and 30-hour training, recognizing that there were not enough regularly available safety training classes for construction companies in the Raleigh area. Proving our competence and genuine care, clients began asking us to do jobsite inspections, write safety manuals, and more. We realized the need for a more full-service solution in the industry.
2014
Paragon began offering safety audits.
2015
We provided our first onsite safety staffing on a pharmaceutical construction site. Our team consisted of 3 employees at this time.
2016
We developed the first custom comprehensive safety manual for a client.
2020
In order to add Occupational Health services to our menu of offerings, we purchased Job Ready Services. This allowed Paragon Safety to provide comprehensive health and safety management for our clients’ employees. From pre-employment physical and new-hire safety training, we’re on the jobsite helping our clients maintain the health and safety of their workforce.
2021
Paragon placed our first onsite medical staff in a manufacturing facility of a globally recognized company. We had grown to 29 employees at this time.
2025
Rebranded as Paragon Safety (dropping “Group”), with employees supporting clients across the Southeast US and Mid-Atlantic
Meet Our Founder
Joshua B. Mauney, CEO
Leaning into a lifetime of work in the construction industry, from large commercial projects to single-family homebuilding, Josh has consistently been a leader in keeping workers safe, healthy, and productive. Although Paragon was founded with a focus on construction safety, Josh’s vision has expanded to any jobsite that cares about its people—which encompasses every industry. His passionate advocacy for worksite health and safety stems not only from his desire to protect the financial interests of companies, but also because it’s simply the right thing to do.
One of only a small handful of Accredited Master Builders in North Carolina, Josh holds a degree in Construction Management from ECU and is very active in the construction community in North Carolina, including years of service for a variety of industry, education, and community organizations across the state. Josh’s dedication to his community reflects his deep-rooted ethos of giving back and enhancing the lives of others.
